Oscar Perez, Ph.D., HCLD, is the Scientific Director at Dallas IVF. Dr. Perez is one of the most experienced embryologists in the United States with over 20 years of experience in both animal and human IVF. Dr. Perez is an expert in all the laboratory components of embryology and andrology related to assisted reproduction, including, but not limited to IVF, ICSI, PGD, and cryopreservation. Dr. Perez has personally performed the laboratory components on over 1800 oocyte/egg retrievals and has done ICSI on over 15,000 oocytes.
Dr. Perez obtained his Ph.D. from Louisiana State University (LSU) in the department of Reproductive Physiology and performed extensive research on in-vitro fertilization at the world renowned Louisiana State University Embryo Biotechnology Laboratory. Prior to joining Dallas IVF in 2009, Dr. Perez was a senior embryologist at the THR-Presbyterian Hospital ARTS Program.
Dr. Perez belongs to the select group of U.S. embryologists who have been certified as a High Complexity Laboratory Director (HCLD) and also as an Embryology Laboratory Director (ELD), by the American Board of Bioanalysis (ABB). Dr. Perez has also obtained a dual certificate in Human Embryology and Andrology by ABB. Dr. Perez is a member of the Society for the Study of Reproduction, the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, the Society for Male Reproduction and Urology and The International Embryo Transfer Society. Dr. Perez is actively involved in oocyte vitrification research, the rapid freezing of oocytes/eggs, and other areas of assisted reproduction. Dr. Perez commonly serves as a mentor to embryologists in training.
